    Description

Originally Toned Choice Morgan Dollar Pattern, Judd-1550a

1878 $1 Morgan Dollar, Judd-1550a, Pollock-1725, R.6-7, PR64 PCGS. The obverse is virtually that of the adopted design, while the reverse differs primarily by having three olive leaves to the lower left of the eagle, rather than a cluster as seen on the regular issue dies. This design also lacks the notches on the undersides of the wings. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. This sharply struck specimen is beautifully toned in peripheral golden-brown, rose, and electric-blue colors. A few very faint hairlines can be discerned in the reverse field upon thorough examination, but the eye appeal is nonetheless impressive. A squiggly lintmark (as made) above the first T in TRUST serves as a pedigree.

The marketing was exceptional from the photos to the ads in Civil War Times and North South Trader for the cross over people!!! I have had many emails from my Civil War collecting fraternity that saw these and I saw them at the national show in Nashville/Franklin in early December.
