Red and Brown Gem 1879 Judd-1598 Washlady Half Dollar1879 50C Washlady Half Dollar, Judd-1598, Pollock-1792, High R.6, PR65 Red and Brown PCGS. Charles Barber's Washlady Design as described above for Judd-1597. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. Housed in an older green-label holder, this piece is a lovely Gem with considerable original orange luster, especially on the reverse. Both sides have light brown color with pale blue and lilac toning. The fields are fully mirrored around lustrous devices with a small discoloration spot on Liberty's cheek, potentially useful for pedigree research. The exact population of this issue is not known, but believed to be in the range of 12 to 15 coins, similar to other Washlady issues.
