    1879 Judd-1602 Copper Pattern Half-Dollar, Proof 65 Red

1879 Half-Dollar, Judd-1602, Pollock-1797, R.7, PR 65 Red PCGS. The obverse is essentially the same as that featured on the Morgan dollar. The reverse exhibits an eagle with spread wings holding an olive branch and three arrows in his talons. The legend, motto, and denomination surround him. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. A remarkably well preserved specimen exhibiting rich, even copper-red color overall with essentially no muting. The centers are not quite fully struck up, and there are a couple of almost invisible carbon flecks, but these hardly detract from the overall beauty of this rare pattern. Population: 1 on PR 65, 1 finer (1/98).
