1880 Metric Dollar in Silver or Goloid
    Judd-1645, PR62

1880 $1 Metric Dollar, Judd-1645, Pollock-1845, High R.6, PR62 PCGS. Ex: Simpson. On the obverse, the head of Liberty faces left and 13 stars encircle the rim with the motto above and date below the portrait. The reverse offers a wreath of cotton and wheat and an inner circle of dots enclosing the legends. Struck in silver or goloid with a reeded edge. This pattern would have been included alongside a goloid dollar and a four dollar stella as part of the 15 to 25 1880 Flowing Hair sets distributed to collectors and numismatic societies. The iconic Barber design is closely associated with the famous Flowing Hair stella and is highly desirable as such. This bright silver PR62 representative exhibits accents of pale gold color and bold strike definition.
