Choice 1881 Liberty Three Cent, Judd-1668

1881 3C Liberty Head Three Cents, Judd-1668, Pollock-1869, High R.6, PR64 PCGS. The design is reminiscent of the issued Charles Barber 1883 Liberty nickel, but there are no stars, and the obverse border instead displays UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The reverse has no legends aside from the Roman numeral III. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. Medium golden-tan toning visits this sharply struck and undisturbed near-Gem. The reverse has a solitary carbon fleck at 7:30. Population: 2 in 64, 4 finer (11/07).
