    Popular Transitional 1882 Liberty Nickel
    PR66, Judd-1690

1882 5C Liberty Head Five Cents, Judd-1690, Pollock-1892, R.5, PR66 NGC. This transitional Liberty nickel pattern closely approximates the issued 1883 No Cents variety, although there are slight differences in the positioning of the devices relative to the stars and peripheral legends. The S in PLURIBUS is widely repunched, and the large V is uncentered relative to the wreath. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. Intricately struck and satiny with a blanket of medium almond-gray toning. A beautifully preserved and undisturbed specimen. Census: 4 in 66, 3 finer (as Ultra Cameo) (8/10).

    Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 62095)
