1883 Aluminum Nickel Pattern, Judd-1719

1883 Five-Cents, Judd-1719, Pollock-1924, R.7, PR 65 PCGS. The obverse is of the regular dies for the 1883 Liberty nickel. The reverse differs with the addition of a curved scroll across the V in the denomination with the word CENTS incuse on the scroll, surrounded by a wreath of corn, wheat, and cotton, E PLURIBUS UNUM below, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA above. Struck in aluminum with a plain edge. Bright reflectivity in the fields with moderate mint frost on the devices. This is the finest example certified of this strong R.7 pattern. Possibly ex: Farouk.
