Aluminum Proof 1885 Judd-1749 Lettered Edge Dollar Pattern

1885 $1 Morgan's Lettered Edge Silver Dollar, Judd-1749, Pollock-1961, Low R.7, PR63 NGC. The regular issue obverse and reverse of the Morgan silver dollar. Struck in aluminum with a lettered edge. A collection of aluminum dollar patterns will provide the numismatist with many years of pleasure. Although the cost of such a collection should be considered, the main challenge will be opportunity, for these pieces do not appear for sale with any regularity. This is a pleasant proof with attractive light gray surfaces and a hint of cameo contrast. Faint hairlines on the obverse limit the grade.
