Rare 1885 Three Cent Nickel Pattern in Aluminum, Judd-1741

1885 3C Three Cent Nickel, Judd-1741, Pollock-1953, High R.7, PR66 PCGS. A trail piece struck with regular dies, obverse and reverse. Struck in aluminum with a plain edge. At first glance, this appears to be a regular Three Cent nickel piece, but a very thin film of oxidation is seen on the surfaces under close examination. A rare pattern issue.
