    Description

    1942 Experimental Glass Cent, MS62
    RB 42-70-X-4, Complete Trial Impression

1942 1C Experimental Amber Glass Cent, RB 42-70-X-4, R.7, MS62 NGC. 1.98 grams, 21.82 mm. (vertical), Specific Gravity 2.60. This yellow-amber example has soft detail on Liberty's portrait and the wreath. A largely intact example with all of the lettering and date present, this piece has considerable excess flange material that was irregularly trimmed. Both faces exhibit myriad bubbles and cracks, especially visible on the obverse. White deposits in the flange area are deposits of fine glass particles. A chip at 8 o'clock on the obverse obscures the L in LIBERTY.
