    Description

    1964 INCO 'Dime' Pattern, MS63, Pollock-5335

1964 Reeded Edge "Dime" Pattern, Unlisted in Judd, Pollock-5335, Unknown Rarity, MS63 NGC. 2.24 gms. Struck by International Nickel Company. Mislabeled on the insert as Pollock-5353, an obvious transposition of the last two digits as the 5353 is a quarter pattern. The obverse features a bust of Dr. Paul D. Merica and the reverse features his laboratory where the pieces were struck. The design was created by Gilroy Roberts and the hubs were created by the Medallic Art Company. Struck in 95% nickel, 5% silicon on a permalloy core of 79% nickel, 16% iron and 5% molybdenum. Mostly brilliant, some striking weakness is seen at the top of the digits in the date.
