1880 Metric Dollar in Copper

1880 $1 Metric Dollar, Judd-1646, Pollock-1846, Low R.6, PR65
Red and Brown PCGS. CAC. William Barber's Metric dollar depicts
Liberty wearing a coronet with a border of pearls. The elaborate
reverse displays a partial wreath of cotton and corn tied at the
base, a ribbon, and the motto DEO EST GLORIA within a cartouche
above. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. The design was taken
from the 1877 half union and examples were struck in silver or
goloid, copper, and aluminum. Over twenty examples are known in
copper, and Saul Teichman at USPatterns.com includes this pieces as
No. 11 out of the 23 examples in his census. This sharply detailed
Gem proof displays fiery-orange mint surfaces with subtle lavender
and emerald toning. A tiny planchet flaw inside the U of UNITED is
