Judd Appendix A, One-Cent Undated Uniface Reverse Die Trial. PR 63. The reverse of the Indian cent struck on a dime planchet. Judd assigned the date of 1860 to this piece, but one or two other strikes are known pairing this reverse die with an obverse of 1863. Struck in a plain collar, with nothing on the obverse except some fine circular die grinding lines. An R.8 piece if not unique, and wholly absent from the auction record of the last decade or more. Lightly toned around the devices, otherwise brilliant.
