    Modern Brass Embossing Die
    Amazonian Obverse Design

Modern Brass Embossing Die for Amazonian Obverse Design. A nicely crafted brass embossing/foil stamping die replicating William Barber's Amazonian design used on the 1872 pattern obverses of quarters, half dollars, and silver dollars (Judd-1195 to 1197, Judd-1200 to 1202, and Judd-1205 to 1207). We believe this is the same brass die that was used to foil emboss the June, 1977 Superior Stamp and Coin Co., Inc. auction catalog cover for The Dr. Walter Lee Couch Collection. Diameter: 3.5 in., 15.53 oz.
