PCGS 1859 Indian Cent, Judd-228, R.1, MS 64. Regular dies obverse of 1859 paired with the adopted design for 1860. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. Undoubtedly one of the more commonly encountered patterns, but one that is probably more of an R.3 than an R.1. This is a sharply struck piece with only a couple of minor marks and rich reddish-gold luster. Showing repunching on some of the lettering.
