    Undated Two Cent Splasher, MS64
    Judd Appendix A, J-A1863-1
    Believed Unique

Undated 2C J-A1863-1 Two Cent Splasher, Judd Appendix A, Pollock-3257, Unique, MS64 PCGS Secure. An obverse die trial for the GOD OUR TRUST two cent piece, as used on Judd-312 and 315. Struck in white metal and believed by Andrew Pollock to be unique. No rarity is given in the latest Judd reference. The impression by the die on this soft metal sunk in deeply and created a piece that is visually similar to a die cap among error coinage. Missing a piece of the outer flan from 3 to 7 'clock. The surfaces are still-bright and show numerous spots. Remnant of the original paper backing still adheres to approximately a third of the back side. Believed to be the only such splasher known today.
