    '1759' Martha Washington Half, MS61
    Judd-2132, Clad Composition

    Undated 50C Martha Washington Half Dollar, Judd-2132, Pollock-2083, Low R.7, MS61 NGC. 11.2 gm. The obverse has a portrait of Martha Washington facing right, and the reverse shows a view of Mount Vernon. Struck in cupronickel-copper (multi-layer composite) with a reeded edge. The alloy was first used for half dollars in 1971, but the actual year the piece was struck is unknown. Untoned and semiprooflike with a lamination flake out of the lower left obverse field. The reverse die has four closely spaced sets of deep clashmarks that show much of Martha's profile.
