Description

1921 Peace Dollar, MS65+
Strong Strike and Solid Color

1921 $1 MS65+ NGC. Faint hints of rose and russet coat otherwise untoned surfaces. All 1921 Peace Dollars were struck in the last four days of 1921. The earlier minted examples have much stronger strikes, as once the short die life of this high relief issue was discovered, George Morgan ordered lower striking pressure and longer die use, reducing striking quality. Given the sharp definition of the present offering, exhibiting only a touch of weakness on the high points of the hair and none on the reverse, it was likely among the earlier examples coined.
