Description
1922 $1 MS65 PCGS. VAM-2E. A Top 50 Variety. A pair of die breaks sets apart the "Wing Break" variety. One crosses the truncation of the bust, while the other is a small, yet prominent worm-shaped flaw at the upper edge of the eagle's wing. A touch of rose color appears in the fields, and small patches of wine-colored patina appear at the B of LIBERTY and the E of ONE, but the shimmering surfaces are untoned otherwise. An abrasion is noted just above the eagle's legs. Population: 1 in 65, 0 finer (4/07).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 257C, Variety PCGS# 133739, Base PCGS# 7357, GSID# 25286)
