Description

1922 Peace Dollar, MS67
Just 2 Finer of 400,000+ Certifications

1922 $1 MS67 CACG. Brilliant, untoned surfaces contain few abrasions save for a semi-obscure spot under GOD. Strike is strong on the obverse, with only slight reverse weakness on the upper left lettering, though this largely misses the eagle. After issues with striking and low die life, relief was reduced in 1922 and production skyrocketed from 1 million coins to almost 52 million. This coin is one of the finest examples of this large mintage, with none graded finer than MS67 at PCGS or CACG, and NGC has only certified one 67* and one 67+* above this piece. Certified populations in MS67 are 58, 4, and 58 for those three grading services, respectively, out of a total certified population that well exceeds 400,000 grading events (7/25).(Registry values: N4719)
