Bright MS 66 1923-D Peace Dollar--Among the Finest Known

1923-D MS 66 PCGS. This is undoubtedly one of the finest 1923-D dollars known--it is surely the finest we have handled in recent memory. There are several interesting and atypical features on this coin. First and most obvious, is the complete lack of die cracks. We find none on either side of this astonishing coin. Second, the fields are bright with a semi-reflective sheen, and one notices upon close examination that this is so because of myriad, faint die polishing marks done in the Mint. The striking details are also uncommonly bold, and there are very few abrasions present that usually bruise the surfaces of '23-D dollars. A stunning example of this scarce issue. From the Emperor Norton Collection and accompanied by a Classic Photo Proof. Population: 18 in 66, none are finer (12/97).
