Lustrous Gem 1923-S Dollar
1923-S $1 MS65 NGC. Although a common date in circulated condition, in Gem Mint State the 1923-S becomes a conditional rarity, which along with a few other S-mint Peace dollars is among the most expensive in the series. This lustrous representative displays faint autumn-gold toning that deepens slightly along the margins. The only consequential contact is on the eagle's head. A "Spiked Shoulder" example, caused by a clashed reverse die.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 257H, PCGS# 7362, GSID# 7902)
