Gem 1923-S Peace Dollar
Seldom Encountered in Higher Grades
1923-S $1 MS65 PCGS. The 1923-S Peace dollar is a scarce
issue in Gem condition, and virtually unobtainable in higher
grades. In his series reference, Roger Burdette warns collectors
seeking an MS65 example to be prepared for a long search. Currently
only four coins have been certified above the Gem level by PCGS and
NGC combined (6/10). The present coin exhibits a
better-than-average strike, which is typically quite weak. The
surfaces are mostly brilliant, with areas of gold and russet toning
and bright mint luster.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 257H, PCGS# 7362, GSID# 7902)
