Description

1924 Silver Dollar, Superb Gem
Outstanding Type Coin

1924 $1 MS67 NGC. The 1922 through 1925 Philadelphia issues are common in typical Mint State, but those in pursuit of high-grade type sets know that the series becomes difficult to obtain at the Superb Gem level, regardless of date. The present lustrous piece boasts crisply struck devices, sweeping cartwheel sheen, and exceptionally smooth surfaces. The mostly brilliant surfaces display glimpses of golden-brown toning, especially near the rims. Census: 98 in 67 (5 in 67+, 1 in 67 ), 1 finer (7/19).(Registry values: N2998)
