Description

1925-S Peace Dollar, Well-Struck MS65
An Exceptional Example

1925-S $1 MS65 PCGS. CAC. The 1925-S, mintage 1.6 million coins, is the second most elusive Peace dollar issue behind the 1928-S. The present Gem example is certified in a small-size PCGS green-label holder, displaying copious cartwheel luster over surfaces that appear silver-gray at first glance, but a loupe reveals glints of rose and ice-blue. Strike and luster are normally the grade-limiting factors, but this piece is far above-average in both regards, with good high-point definition on both sides. Contact marks are few on either side and consistent with the grade. Population: 36 in 65, 0 finer (9/11).(Registry values: N4719)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 257M, PCGS# 7366, Greysheet# 7904)

Weight: 26.73 grams

Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
