Description

High-End Gem 1925-S Peace Dollar

1925-S MS 65 NGC. Only a couple of bags of '25-S dollars have ever surfaced, making this issue an absolute as well as a strike rarity. Very rarely is a coin encountered with a decent strike. This piece is actually above average for the date but it still displays notable weakness on the lowest row of feathers on the eagle's wing. The overall surfaces, however, are quite extraordinary. A few tiny abrasions are located on the eagle's wing, but the obverse is almost free of blemishes--reinforcing the impression of this being a high-end coin with potential for a possible upgrade. The bright surfaces have a hard, metallic sheen and are accented by a light overlay of golden-brown patina. An exceptional '25-S dollar. From the Emperor Norton Collection and accompanied by a Classic Photo Proof. Population: 37 in 65, none are finer (1/98).
