Description

1926-S Peace Dollar, MS66
Shimmering Mint Luster
Ex: Jack Lee

1926-S $1 MS66 PCGS. CAC. Ex: Jack Lee. One of the most common San Francisco Peace dollars in Gem condition but still somewhat scarce at that level, and a rarity any finer. This is a well-struck and problem-free example whose nearly pristine surfaces are faultless aside from a small toning spot in the lower left obverse field and a few scattered faint milling marks. Essentially brilliant, with pale hints of shimmering metallic rose in the fields providing the only color, and with a cool lustrous glow emanating from the richly frosted surfaces. Population: 63 in 66, 2 finer (8/11).
Ex: Long Beach Signature Sale (Heritage, 2/2001), lot 6493, which realized $7,762.50; Portland Signature (Heritage, 3/2004), lot 6823; ANA Signature (Heritage, 8/2004), lot 4196.(Registry values: N2998)
