Description
Satiny Premium Gem 1926-S Peace Dollar
1926-S $1 MS66 PCGS. The 1926-S is one of those magical date/mint combinations in numismatics that resonates with collectors, as Mint State specimens in the various denominations are usually elusive, expensive, and often difficult to find in top condition. So it is with this lovely Peace dollar. Although the issue is relatively obtainable in lower grades, the population drops rather precipitously at the Gem level, and is highly elusive any finer. This example offers lovely silver-blue, satiny surfaces with brilliant luster. Except for a couple of tiny luster grazes, a single tick on Liberty's brow, and a bit of surface roughness on the eagle, this phenomenal example might actually attain an even finer grade. Population: 48 in 66, 1 finer (3/06).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 257R, PCGS# 7369, Greysheet# 7906)
Weight: 26.73 grams
