Attractive MS65 1927-D Peace Dollar

1927-D $1 MS65 PCGS. From a mintage of less than 1.3 million coins, the 1927-D Peace dollar is surprisingly uncommon in Mint State grades. Roger Burdette opines, "Within the Peace dollar series, the 1927-D is the second rarest overall in Uncirculated condition, next to the 1934-S." Only 12 coins have been certified finer by NGC and PCGS combined (3/09). The present coin is well struck, with hints of lavender and speckles of black toning.(Registry values: N2998)
