Original Gem 1927-S Peace Dollar
1927-S $1 MS65 NGC. The pale mottled purple and russet patina that appears on each side of this lustrous Gem is quite attractive and obviously original. With excellent striking definition and minimal marks, this piece is impressive from both technical and visual perspectives. This San Francisco Mint issue is very scarce at the MS65 grade level, and rare any finer; in fact NGC and PCGS together have certified only three coins at the next level (12/09).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 257U, PCGS# 7372, GSID# 7908)
