Radiant Gem 1927-S Dollar
1927-S $1 MS65 NGC. The mintage of this issue was less than 1 million coins--866,000, to be exact--and many typical examples have quality issues. This is one of the highly reflective examples that likely stems from the Redfield hoard, with radiant cartwheel luster from silver-white, satiny surfaces. that have only a suggestion of lilac and ice-blue color. The strike is good through the centers, although a few ticks on the reverse preclude an even finer grade.
