Few Finer Examples
1927-S $1 MS65 PCGS. The 1927-S is a key to the Peace dollar
series with a mintage of only 866,000 pieces. Choice examples are
plentiful, but Gems become challenging and finer pieces are rare.
This Gem is sharply struck with satiny-smooth luster on untoned
centers bordered with subtle tufts of cobalt-blue, lavender and
amber. Surfaces are pristine save for a tiny tick under Liberty's
eye and a faint luster graze in the left obverse field. PCGS and
NGC, combined, report only five numerically finer pieces
