Exemplary Gem 1927-S Peace Dollar1927-S $1 MS65 PCGS. The 1927-S Peace Dollar is, along with the 1925-S and 1928-S, the key to this popular series in Gem grades. A look at the population figures immediately gives some insight into why, as PCGS has certified only 58 1927-S dollars in MS65, with only two finer (11/08). Bright satiny luster combines with a pale splashes of gold-olive toning to present a pleasing appearance. Splendidly smooth, since a single mark on Liberty's hair over the ear is all that precludes an even higher grade.
