Description
Elusive Gem 1928 Peace Dollar
1928 $1 MS65 PCGS. The 1928 has the lowest mintage of any Peace dollar with only 360,649 pieces produced. As a result, it is difficult (and pricey) to locate in circulated grades also. Gems are quite rare, not only because of the absolute scarcity of the issue but also because of the softness of strike which keeps many otherwise nice coins from Gem status. This is a well defined piece that is sharp even on the eagle's wing with all feathers present. Each side presents a snow-white, completely untoned appearance. From The Robert Moreno Registry Collection of Peace Dollars.(Registry values: N2998)
