Description
Gem 1928-S Peace Dollar
Sharply Struck, Unusual as Such
1928-S $1 MS65 PCGS. CAC. Although the 1928 Peace dollar is
a famous low-mintage key in this popular series, the 1928-S at the
Gem level has a higher mintage but is far more difficult to obtain
in nice condition. Unlike many examples of the issue, the present
Gem is sharply struck, over surfaces that are almost brilliant save
for just a hint of color, and there are no noticeable abrasions to
perturb the excellent aesthetic impression set up by this unusual
constellation of positive attributes. PCGS has seen 46 submissions
in MS65, with one each in MS65+ and MS66 (11/11).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 257W, PCGS# 7374, Greysheet# 7909)
