Description
Conditionally Elusive 1928-S Peace Dollar, MS65
1928-S $1 MS65 PCGS. While the 1928-S is available in the Mint State grades up through MS64, there are few Gems available. While many think of the 1928 and 1934-S as key dates in the Peace dollar series, in properly graded Gem condition the 1925-S and 1928-S are the conditional keys to the series, and each is many times more expensive than those better-known keys. This silver-white piece has a sharp strike, more so on the obverse than the reverse, but it is the relatively pristine condition and the thick mint frost evenly coating each side that give this piece its incredible panache. A memorable coin for a fine collection. Population: 46 in 65, 1 finer (7/07).(Registry values: N4719)
Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 257W, PCGS# 7374, Greysheet# 7909)
Weight: 26.73 grams
