1934-D Peace Dollar, MS65+ CAC
CAC-Approved; Blindingly Lustrous

1934-D $1 MS65+ PCGS. CAC. Untoned surfaces, brilliant and deep cartwheel luster, and fully struck details define this 1934-D Peace dollar. The 1934 issues represented the first silver dollars produced since 1928, when the recoining of 270 million silver dollars as authorized by the Pittman Act in 1918, was completed. Production only resumed as a ploy to increase the money supply during the Depression after the Treasury's December 1933 announcement that it would buy silver above the market price to prop up its value.(Registry values: N1793)
