1934-D Peace Dollar, MS66+
Blatant Eye Appeal
1934-D $1 MS66+ PCGS. CAC. Micro D. Even Gem-certified
1934-D Peace dollars are available with little difficulty, but
Premium Gems are considerably more elusive, by about an order of
magnitude -- a level where PCGS has seen 61 submissions. The
present MS66+ is one of only two such at PCGS, and there are two
MS67 coins finer at that service (4/13). The surfaces of this piece
are largely untoned silver-white, with just a touch of rose near
the rims. The blatant eye appeal is a product equally of the
thoroughgoing luster and the excellent overall preservation. A
single nick on the eagle's back is the only mark in a focal
