Description

1934-D Peace Dollar, MS66+
Only Two Finer at PCGS

1934-D $1 MS66+ PCGS. CAC. Apparent machine or strike doubling is noted at the lower obverse and upper reverse of this amazing Peace dollar. The series was interrupted after the 1928 issue and resumed in 1934 for two years. The 1934-D is unlike most other Peace dollar issues as no hoards have entered the marketplace. Most well-preserved survivors that exist today are from collectors who save these coins at the time of issue. The present Premium Gem is one of the best that most collectors can hope to obtain. This example features satin luster and bold design motifs with light gray and pale blue overtones. The strike is average for the issue with some weakness noted on the eagles wings behind the neck. Overall, this exceptional 1934-D Peace dollar will make a nice addition to an advanced Registry set. PCGS has graded 30 of these in MS66+ and just two finer submissions. CAC: 31 in 66, 0 finer (5/25).(Registry values: N2998)
