Description

1934-D Peace Dollar, MS66+
Prohibitively Rare Any Finer

1934-D $1 MS66+ PCGS. The 1934-D is significantly more plentiful than the 1934-S in Mint State, although Premium Gem examples are still scarce, and Plus-graded pieces in this grade are rare. We have previously handled an MS66+ coin on only nine occasions. A handful of finer coins exist in MS67, but we have not handled such a coin in more than a decade. Thus, this MS66+ specimen represents the finest 1934-D Peace dollar that most collectors will be able to realistically acquire.

Brilliant, satiny luster yields traces of russet toning around the borders, with no significant abrasions to detract from the eye appeal. The strike is sharp throughout. Population: 25 in 66+, 2 finer (6/23).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 257Y, PCGS# 7376, Greysheet# 7910)
