Description
1934-S Peace Dollar, MS64
Burdette's 'Cornerstone' of the Series
1934-S $1 MS64 NGC. From a small mintage of just over 1
million pieces, the 1934-S Peace dollar is the key issue of the
series. Many examples were placed into circulation and the 1934-S
is the scarcest Peace dollar in Mint State grades today, although a
few dates are rarer at the Gem level. The present near-Gem specimen
is well struck, with the typical softness in Liberty's hair above
the ear. The surfaces are lustrous, with spots of gold and russet
toning evident on both sides.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 257Z, PCGS# 7377, GSID# 7911)
