Description
1934-S Dollar, Satiny MS66
Among the Finest Certified
1934-S $1 MS66 NGC. Save for the 1927, '27-D, and '28, the
San Francisco issues are the most conditionally elusive in the
Peace dollar series. In the case of the 1934-S, we have a date that
is rare in MS66 and only moderately available in lower grades in
the context of the series. All grades combined, no other Peace
dollar issue is scarcer in Mint State. This Premium Gem stands among the finest 1934-S dollars known, and it is a rarity as such. Well-struck design elements complement mainly brilliant, satiny luster. A few faint grazes in the left obverse field are all that prevent an even finer grade. Coming from a relatively small mintage of little more than 1 million pieces, high-end examples of the 1934-S Peace dollar have long been sought-after condition keys in the series. Census: 14 in 66 (1 in 66 ★ ), 0 finer (11/17).
