Description

1910-S Philippines Peso, MS67
Tied for Finest Certified
From the Eliasberg Collection

1910-S Philippines Peso MS67 PCGS. The 1910-S peso is common in well circulated grades but, reminiscent of Barber quarter branch issues, it is scarce in AU and surprisingly rare in nice Mint State. PCGS has graded only four coins finer than MS65, including one example as MS66, another as MS66+ and two pieces as MS67. At NGC (11/21), none are certified above MS65. The present Superb Gem is the more desirable, since it offers aesthetically pleasing golden-brown, lilac-red, and powder-blue patina. The lustrous and sharply struck surfaces are remarkably devoid of contact.
