Philadelphia mint, KM168, Allen-16.03a. A rare and elusive variant
of the 1904 Proof Peso, of which a tiny fraction of the 1,335
Proofs struck show this 1904/4 anomaly, as confirmed by a brief
census survey. This is the single-highest grade available for this
variant, 2-1/2 points finer than the next highest grade at both
services, including the Honeycutt specimen we handled last year.
Pristine Proof surfaces are met with a vibrant rainbow lunette on
both faces, a stunning juxtaposition to view in hand. The most
superior example we have offered at our firm and among the best for
