Spanish Colony. Alfonso XII brass Die Trial 50 Centavos 1880-Dated (c. 1940s) AU58 NGC, Manila mint, KM-Pn17. A most curious emission struck in brass made under Franco's government and one whose purpose remains shrouded in mystery. Certified at the cusp of a Mint State conditional assignment and accompanied by appearances consistent with the handful to reach market in the last few years.From the Mahal Collection of Spanish and US Philippines Coins, Part XII
