Description
Richly Toned 1898 Dime, PR67
1898 10C PR67 NGC. This is a superlative type coin and has great merits on its own as a PR67. But when one looks closely beneath the rich rose and cobalt-blue toning that covers each side it is apparent that a significant amount of mint frost is present on the devices. Enough, most likely, to warrant a Cameo designation if this coin was not toned. But it is marvelously toned, and devoid of any noticeable contact marks on either side. The deep mirrors flash strongly through the thick toning. Census: 29 in 67, 7 finer (6/10).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23GB, PCGS# 4882, GSID# 4416)
