Description

1902 Barber Dime, PR64
Brilliant With Deeply Reflective Fields, CAC

1902 10C PR64 PCGS. CAC. The third Philadelphia Mint building on Spring Garden Street opened in 1901. In keeping with other proofs struck in 1902, the new Mint employed an all-brilliant format that borders on chromelike reflectivity, with little significant contrast between the raised devices and the glittering silver fields. This Choice proof acquired a faint, translucent hint of gold patina over the past 120+ years to complement the mostly silver-white surfaces. The coin is housed in a Generation 1.2 "rattler" holder with its well-deserved CAC endorsement.(Registry values: N991)
