1903 Dime, PR67+ Cameo
Rare High-End Contrast
1903 10C PR67+ Cameo NGC. Ex: Grand Teton Collection. Deep,
reflective fields yield dynamic black-on-white cameo burst on this
rare and brilliant Cameo-rated 1903 Barber proof, with high-end
contrast being especially significant considering the issue. The
fields appear flawless, with the only pedigree identifier being a
tiny lint mark (as struck) just above the wreath knot. A strong
strike leaves devices sharp and distinct, and a plush layer of
satiny luster adds further credence to the Cameo designation.
Combined reporting from PCGS and NGC shows only two examples at
this grade, and with no Deep or Ultra Cameo examples reported, this
remarkable Plus-graded piece is one of the two finest Superb Gem
proofs in the issue (3/25). Census: 2 in 67 Cameo (1 in 67+), 0
