1893 Half Dollar, PR67 Cameo
High-End Brilliance
1893 50C PR67 Cameo NGC. Ex: Grand Teton Collection. This
splendid early Barber half features all-brilliant fields that
contrast beautifully with icy-white devices in satin mint luster,
earning it the Cameo designation. This Superb Gem proof is
generally well struck but, typical of the series, there is slight
weakness on the reverse central devices, and over-polishing the
proof dies has left slight smoothness in luster below Liberty's ear
and underneath her jawline. Faint roller marks (as struck) remain
visible in the reverse fields under a loupe. Imperfections are
minor and do not detract from the overall visual presentation,
which is quite pleasing. NGC reports only one numerically finer
example in Cameo (3/25). Census: 15 in 67 Cameo (1 in 67★ ),
