Colorful Gem Proof 1895 Barber Half
1895 50C PR65 NGC. What this Gem specimen lacks in contrast, it makes up for in gorgeous colors, electric-blue at the borders with a sharp turn to peach in the interior, fading to gold and finally silver-gray at the cores. The obverse shows a measure of frost on the portrait, while the eagle's contrast is more subdued; nonetheless, both sides offer generous eye appeal in their different ways.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24NX, PCGS# 6542, Greysheet# 6636)
